i thought this book (story) was a big goofy.

the author was aiming for a [New The-Little-Prince]

I can definitely see your point of view. In fact, I think it's my most
instinctive reaction to the book.
I was recommended it by someone I know; and the best of it appears in
the quote I gave.

It seems to set out on a highly positive road, but then gets lost. The
highway to self-discovery; the better and simpler parts of our nature.
The pyramids and Godhead! They don't work.
It doesn't work for me.
In John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress, the goal of Christian salvation
DOES work. But the pyramids? Jeez, they bespeak years of slave labour to
build a monument
